The UC men's soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky, 3-2, on Friday, Aug. 28, at Gettler Stadium (UC/Andrew Higley).
2016: Played in 17 matches, starting 12 ... Recorded two goals as well as dished out an assist on the year ... Scored the match winner in a 4-0 home victory over Temple (10/15) ... Added a score and distributed an assist in the season-opening, 3-0, win at Fort Wayne (8/29).
2014: Saw action in 11 matches during his first season ... Recorded three shots, with one in each game versus Wright State, IPFW and IUPUI.
Prior to UC: Product of Mason High School ... earned NSCAA All-America honors and helped Mason to a state championship in 2013 ... reached the state semifinals in 2012 before 2013 saw Comets state title and ascending to the top of the NSCAA's national high school rankings after going 22-0-1 ... won Ohio's Mr. Soccer award in 2013 and is a three-time All-Ohio selection ... leaves Mason as the school's record holder in career goals (73), goals in a season (31), goals in a game (four) and career assists (24) ... in his three years as a letterwinner, Mason posted a record of 54-7-4 ... played club for the Cincinnati United Premier Gold team alongside classmate Christian hay, winning state championships from 2008-13 and finishing as the U.S. Youth Soccer national runner-up in 2013 ... He is a very quick and technical player with the ability to beat players 1v1 and either serve quality crosses or create scoring opportunities for himself. He has had tremendous success at the club and high school levels and brings a winning mentality to our program."
