LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No. 10/9 Louisville scored four second half goals en route to a 4-0 win over the University of Cincinnati men's soccer team on Wednesday evening at Cardinal Park.
After a scoreless first half in which the Bearcats (4-8-1, 0-4-0 BIG EAST) survived a flurry of scoring chances by Louisville (8-3-1, 1-2-1). The Cardinals posted nine shots and seven corner kicks in the first 45 minutes. Joey Barnard (McKinney, Texas/McKinney) made a pair of saves in the stanza.
The Cardinals wasted little time getting on the scoreboard in the second half, as Kenny Walker scored his fourth goal of the season in the 56th minute.
In the 61st minute, Nick DeLeon made it 2-0 after a misplay in the box by Barnard. Buck Tufty made it 3-0 seven minutes later putting home his own rebound following a Barnard save in close.
Mark Knight capped the scoring for U of L in the 80th minute after a missed clearing attempt. It was his second of the season.
UC is winless through the first four BIG EAST matches for the first time since opening the 2008 conference slate 0-3-1.
