SYRACUSE, NY - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Syracuse on Saturday (Oct. 13) at the SU Soccer Complex. SU's Tom Perevegyencev scored in the 89th minute, snapping UC's to-match winning streak. The Bearcats fall to 5-6-1 overall and 3-2-1 in BIG EAST play, while Syracuse improves to 4-4-3 and 2-4-0 in league action.
Cincinnati held a slight 13-12 edge in shots, but Syracuse had the only shot that mattered. Perevegyencev beat a pair of Bearcat defenders and fired a shot past UC goalkeeper Miguel Rosales (Aurora, CO/Smoky Hill) for his fourth goal of the season.
Rosales made four saves and has allowed just four goals in the last six matches. Syracuse goalkeeper Robert Cavicchia made five saves in his third shutout of 2007.
UC continues on the road for a BIG EAST matchup against rival Louisville on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at Cardinal Park.
