Cottrell Named Academic All-Ohio

2013 Men's Academic All-Ohio Teams

CINCINNATI -University of Cincinnati men's soccer player Jonathan Cottrell (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Dubai College) has been named first team Academic All-Ohio. The sophomore is one of 12 Division I first team selections voted on by the coaches in the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.

Cottrell played in 16 matches on the year, making 14 starts. The midfielder had a pair of assists on the year, helping on a goal in a 2-0 win over Evansville and on the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Cleveland State. He was one of seven Bearcats to play at least 1,300 minutes on the year.

The Dubai native has posted a 3.80 grade-point average as a finance major at UC. Three Bearcats were selected Academic All-Ohio the prior season: Matt Bahner, Peter Jannelli and Zach Patterson.
