Jan. 28, 2014
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati men's soccer coach Hylton Dayes has announced his team's 2014 spring slate as the Bearcats build towards the 2014 campaign. UC will host Dayton, Notre Dame College and the professional Dutch Lions FC, while also visiting Kentucky and Eastern Illinois.
"We are looking forward to getting our spring season underway," Dayes said. "This schedule will be a good test for us and should give us the opportunity to see how much we progress towards the upcoming fall season."
The schedule opens with a pair of home matches versus Dayton and Notre Dame College. The Flyers will visit on Saturday, March 8, at 4 p.m., followed by Notre Dame College on Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. Both matches will be held at the Sheakley Athletics Center, in UC's state-of-the-art bubble.
Cincinnati will travel to Kentucky on Saturday, March 29, before returning home to host the USL Pro league's Dayton Dutch Lions FC on Tuesday, April 1. Dutch Lions finished 2013 with a 10-9-7 mark in the USL Pro league, which is the second tier of American professional soccer. That match is set for 7:00 p.m.
After a trip to play at Eastern Illinois on Monday, April 7, the Bearcats will conclude with their annual match versus men's soccer alumni on Sunday, April 13, at Gettler Stadium. The final weekend will include the annual men's soccer golf outing. For more information on either event, contact assistant coach Jeremy Bonomo at email@example.com.
