CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati men's soccer head coach Hylton Dayes announced the addition of two players to the 2013 fall roster. Alan Rovira (Simi Valley, Calif./Tyler Junior College) will transfer as a junior while Jon Cottrell (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Dubai College), who was not cleared to play in 2012, will be eligible to join the team in 2013.

Junior College: Member of the 2012 NJCAA Division 1 champion Tyler Junior College Apaches (2012) ... scored 12 goals in the 2012 championship season.
High School: Played at Simi Valley High School and was named to the All-Region IV team as a sophomore ... scored 14 goals as a senior en route to being named Maramonte League Co-Most Valuable Player ... team finished 13-1 and won the Maramonte League championship ... played for the U-20 El Salvador National Team as a senior and was called up to full El Salvador National Team for a friendly vs. Honduras in 2010 ... played in the LA Galaxy Academy from 2009-11.
Personal: Born February 10, 1992 ... son of William and Rosa Rovira...has one brother, Andy ... major is undecided.
Coach Dayes on Rovira: "We are very pleased to add Alan to our program. He is an experienced left sided player, excellent 1v1 and will be a consistent attacking threat on the flanks. He is coming off a national championship at Tyler Junior College, so he has that winning mentality that is so important. His creativity will make us more fluid in attack and make it difficult for other teams to defend us."

High School: Played in the UAE Youth League ... played for AL Wasl FC (2008-10) where his team finished as the League Cup runners-up ... joined Al Nasr FC (2010-12) and topped the Japanese Under-16 National Team 2-1.
Personal: Born March 27, 1992 ... son of Paul and Vanessa Cottrell ... has one sister, Natalie ... father Paul played professional soccer with Plymouth Argyle (England) ... grandfather John Berry played professional soccer with West Ham United F.C. (England) ... major is exploratory studies.
Coach Dayes on Cottrell: "Jon has all the qualities to be a top level Division I holding midfielder. He reads the game very well, is very good in possession and an excellent passer. He has been able to train with us all year and has transitioned well to the college environment. He has worked extremely hard in the weight room as he prepares for next fall. He is another player that will help us in becoming a more possession oriented team."
