CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team hosted a free clinic on Wednesday, May 28, serving as a preview for the Cincinnati Soccer Academy.
Youth players had the chance to train and practice with the UC coaches and players. The clinic provided a preview for the instruction provided at the Cincinnati Soccer Academy's day camps, which will be held June 9-13 and July 7-11 at the University. "It was a great opportunity to give back to the community," said rising junior Gabriel Robinson (Easton, Pa./LaSalle). "It's always rewarding to see the look on kids' faces when they step out onto the field. It makes the clinics feel so worthwhile."
While the clinics provide an opportunity to promote the Cincinnati Soccer Academy, the staff also knows the importance of showing the players what it means to the Cincinnati community when they give back.
"I remember working the free clinics when I played here at UC," said the team's director of operations Mike Brizzi. "It's great to see that it's something we've continued to do. The kids get so fired up just to be on the field and it's awesome to be a part of that."
