Men's Soccer Puts Together 26th-ranked Recruiting Class

CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team's 2007 recruiting class is ranked No. 26 in the nation according to CollegeSoccerNews.com. The Bearcats have added eight newcomers to the roster, including a pair of high school all-americans and a junior college all-american.

"We appreciate the national recognition from CollegeSoccerNews.com for our recruiting class," said head coach Hylton Dayes. "Recruiting quality student-athletes continues to be a goal for our program and this year's class is evidence of that."

UC's class is ranked No. 7 in the BIG EAST and is one of 11 BIG EAST programs in the top 40. The Bearcats' 2006 recruiting class was ranked No. 38 in the nation according to CollegeSoccerNews.com.

The eight newcomers are GK Isiah Castro (Watsonville, Calif./Watsonville), D/MF Michael Hnat (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township), MF Mark Konitsch (Clarence, NY/Clarence Senior), GK Miguel Rosales (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill), F Branden Stelmak (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), MF Scott Stockum (Fairfield, Ohio/Cincinnati State), F/MF Matt Telting (Loveland, Ohio/Milford), and F Richard Wilson (Ocho Rios, Jamaica/Munro College).
