CINCINNATI -- University of Cincinnati men's soccer freshmen Miguel Rosales (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) and Branden Stelmak (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) have been named members of the College Soccer News 100 Freshmen to Watch list.
Rosales, a 6-1 goalkeeper, was a two-time Colorado Player of the Year at Smoky Hill High School. An NSCAA/adidas all-American as a senior, Rosales led Smoky Hill High School to a pair of state championships and a second-place finish during his prep career. He held a 44-10-6 record in three seasons as a starter and was a three-time first team all-conference and all-state selection.
Stelmak, a 5-10 forward, was an NSCAA/adidas all-America selection as a senior at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School. He earned Northeast Ohio Division I Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, first team All-Ohio, and first team NSCAA/adidas all-Midwest honors as a senior and accounted for 37 goals and 29 assists during his prep career. Stelmak participated in the Super-Y League and Ohio Olympic Development Program and was named to the all-Super-Y League North American Finals Team in 2006.
Rosales and Stelmak are part of an eight-member 2007 recruiting class, ranked No. 26 nationally according to College Soccer News.
