CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati sophomore Cole DeNormandie (Lincoln, Mass. / Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week the conference announced today.
In two games last week, DeNormandie was a part of all four goals scored for the Bearcats. In a 3-3 tie at DePaul, he scored once and added two assists. On Saturday vs. Rutgers, he scored the game winning goal in the 88th minute of regulation time to lead UC to a 1-0 victory.
The win vs. Rutgers moved Cincinnati to 6-7-4 on the year and moved them into third place in the BIG EAST Red Division Standings with a 3-2-2 conference mark.
DeNormandie, a 2011 BIG EAST All-Rookie honoree, has started all 17 matches for the Bearcats this season. He has three goals on the season, including two game winners against Drake and Rutgers. He has also chipped in with four assists on the season.
Cincinnati will host No. 21/25 Louisville at Gettler Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the final match of the regular season.
