The University of Cincinnati announces today the new, exciting promotional CHEER CINCY event will take place in Marge Schott Baseball Stadium this Sunday, August 26 from noon-1 p.m. during the UC Student Welcome Weekend of events. CHEER CINCY is an event open free of charge to all UC students to come learn the UC traditions and cheers of the student section at games including the fight song, down the drive and alma mater.
The first 500 students will receive a free T-shirt, black stadium cup and key chain, sponsored by the UC Welcome Weekend committee, Fraternity & Sorority Life and UC Athletics! Gates to the baseball stadium open at 11:45, so students are encouraged to come early!
The RALLYCATS, who have spearheaded this event have partnered with UC Athletics, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Bearcat Band, and cheerleaders to put on a great event. Head Baseball coach Brian Cleary will give the welcome to the Students and other speakers include football quarterback Jordan Luallen and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Aaron Swinson. The event emcee is Phil Dinovo, former RallyCats executive board member, former Student Orientation Leader, president of the Senior Class, president of Men of Metro and member of Greek Life.

Immediately following the game, students are encouraged to walk next door to Gettler Soccer stadium to watch the season opener for the Women’s Soccer team at 1 p.m. vs. Northeastern. UC Students are free with their UC ID to the game and will have an opportunity to receive complimentary pizza sponsored by head coach Michelle Salmon.
