A look at the week ahead in UC sports:
The football team faces the No. 5 Florida Gators in the 76th Allstate Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. Cincinnati ended the regular season as one of five undefeated teams with a 12-0 record and ranked No. 4 in the AP poll and No. 3 in the BCS standings. This is the Bearcats' second BCS bowl game in the last two seasons and their first ever Sugar Bowl. The defending national champion Gators are returning to the Sugar Bowl for the eighth time.
The men's basketball team (8-3) will face No. 10 Connecticut (9-2 BIG EAST) in its conference opener at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fifth Third Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and will be on the radio on 700 WLW. The Bearcats will play Rutgers (9-3) at 8 p.m. Saturday in Piscataway, N.J. The game will be on Fox Sports Ohio and on 700 WLW. Cincinnati returns home to face Pittsburgh (11-2) at 7 p.m. Monday at Fifth Third Arena. The game will be on ESPN and 700 WLW.
The women's basketball team will play Louisville (8-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats are 7-5 after a 51-45 victory over Wright State on Tuesday night.
