The Diamond Club
The Diamond Club, a club within UCATS, supports the UC baseball program in many ways. Funds raised by the club help to cover team expenses such as travel, recruiting, equipment and facility improvements.
"The Diamond Club has become a central component in the success of our program,” head coach Brian Cleary said. “The support that Diamond Club members provide, both financially and otherwise, is critical."
Another part of the Diamond Club deals with scholarship money for the players. The highest level of giving within the club, the Glenn Sample Society, provides financing that allows the baseball program to reach its scholarship goal of $40,000 per year. The society’s support allows UC baseball to continue its longstanding tradition of recruiting the best players not only in Ohio, but across the nation. Rohlfs agrees that scholarship money is key to being successful.
“Because of how limited college baseball scholarships are, the scholarship money that Diamond Club members provide has been a huge part of our success,” he said.
Advantages of becoming a Diamond Club member include season tickets, e-mail updates, authentic apparel, autographed souvenirs and the additional benefits that come with being a UCATS member.
From donating and raising money, to attending games and getting to know the players, Diamond Club members have proven to be UC baseball’s biggest fans.
