CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team dropped a 62-43 decision to visiting USF, Wednesday in American Athletic Conference action inside Fifth Third Arena.

Alyesha Lovett (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X Shabazz) scored a game-high 20 points, her second-straight game equaling the 20-point plateau. She also grabbed a team-high tying six rebounds and dished out two assists.

USF (14-11, 9-5 American) finished with 19 fast-break points and a 47-28 rebounding advantage. The Bulls converted 11 offensive rebounds into 14 second-chance points. The Bearcats (11-15, 4-11 American) did not shoot it well, going 18-of-57 (.316) from the floor for the game.

The Bulls scored six-straight points out of halftime, pushing their lead to 21, 37-16 with 18:53 left. UC went on a 7-0 run over the next 90 seconds to pull the margin down to 14 at 37-23 with 17:08 to go. The Bearcats would not score over the next four-plus minutes while USF was on a another 8-0 run, this time moving the lead to 24 at 49-25 with 12:22 left, the biggest deficit of the night for UC.

Cincinnati pulled it under 20 on two occasions, but could get no closer than 17 after a late 7-0 run made it 60-43 with 58 ticks left on the clock. The Bulls added a meaningless layup at the buzzer to make the final 62-43.

Jeanise Randolph (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Fractional North), the reigning American and College Sports Madness Player of the Week, added 11 points while Chelsea Jamison (Indianapolis, Ind./Broad Ripple) equaled the team high and her season best with six rebounds and blocked a career best two shots.

USF's Courtney Williams finished with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Inga Orekhova knocked down three triples on the way to a 13-point night. Alisia Jenkins was close to a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds while Akila McDonald grabbed eight boards. Shaleth Stringfield came off the bench to score eight points, dish out five assists and grab five rebounds.

UC trailed 31-16 at the half and led briefly at 2-0. UC scored one basket during an eight-minute span that featured an 11-2 USF run that gave the Bulls a 15-point halftime advantage.
