CINCINNATI -The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team suffered a 75-51 defeat at the hands of No. 3/3 Louisville, Saturday on senior day inside Fifth Third Arena.

Prior to the game, UC honored seniors Kayla Cook (South Webster, Ohio/South Webster), Dayeesha Hollins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods/Michigan) and Jeanise Randolph (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Fractional North) for their career contributions. Hollins, UC's leading scorer, has missed the past 12 games due to injury.

The Bearcats (12-16, 5-12 American Athletic Conference) trailed by eight at the half and pulled it down to six early in the second half, but a 17-7 early second-half run by the Cardinals (28-2, 16-1 American) put things out of reach.

UC was in an early nine-point hole after starting out 2-of-10 from the field. Down 14-5 with 13:13 left, UC went on a 16-5 run over 3:24 to take a two-point lead, 21-19, with 9:49 to go. From there, UofL closed the half on an 18-8 run to lead 37-29 at the break.

The Bearcats knocked down a layup and jumper in the first two minutes of the half, pulling the deficit down to six at 39-33 with 18:39 to go, but once again the Cardinals had an answer.

Over the next 6:32, the Cardinals went on a 17-7 run that moved the lead to double-digits for the first time, going up 56-40 with 11:45 left. During the run, UC missed four shots and turned the ball over four times.

UC's 20 turnovers were converted into 20 points by the visitors and the Cardinals also held a 30-18 advantage on points in the paint and tallied 12 second-chance points on 11 offensive rebounds.

Randolph led all scorers with 22 points and 11 rebounds, her 10th double-double of the season and 14th of her career. She is the first UC player to record 10 or more double-doubles in a season since Jill Stephens accomplished the feat in 2007-08.

Alyesha Lovett (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X Shabazz) finished with 15 points, dishing out five assists and pulling down four rebounds.

Cook moved into a tie for fifth place on the all-time three-pointers made list with 146 career triples and into fifth place on the career minutes played chart with 3,718 minutes.

Tia Gibbs led the Cardinals with 17 points off the bench. Antonita Slaughter scored 14, Asia Taylor had 12 along with eight rebounds while Shoni Schimmel finished with 10.

Cincinnati closes out the regular season on Tuesday, March 3 with a road trip to Memphis. The Bearcats and Tigers will tip it off at 8 p.m. ET on the American Digital Network. Tune into www.TheAmerican.org for a free video stream of the game. Live audio will be available on GoBEARCATS.com.
