CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team (14-12, 5-8 BIG EAST) looks to extend its winning streak when it hosts Marquette (13-13, 4-9 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena. With a win, UC will have its most BIG EAST victories since the 2006-07 season, when it won six. Fans can watch the game live on GoBEARCATS.com with Tom Gelehrter on the call.

Last Time Out
The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team escaped a late Seton Hall (7-20, 0-13 BIG EAST) rally to defeat the Pirates, 54-48, on Saturday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium. With the victory, Cincinnati has won four BIG EAST road contests, which is its most since joining the league in 2005-06. Its 14 wins is the most since the 2008-09 season when it finished 14-17. Cincinnati was led by three players in double-figures, including Dayeesha Hollins with a team-high 16 points, Chanel Chisholm with 14 and Bjonee Reaves with 12.

Scouting Marquette
Marquette enters Tuesday’s contest with a 13-13 overall record and 4-9 BIG EAST mark after its most recent 79-63 loss to Syracuse on Feb. 18. The Golden Eagles have lost seven of their last eight, including its 64-52 loss to Cincinnati on Feb. 1. Its only win during that span was against Pittsburgh, 72-48. MU is 2-6 on the road this season. Its last road victory was at St. John’s on Jan. 15, 63-55. Marquette is led by Katherine Plouffe with 13.9 ppg and 8.7 rpg.

Bearcats Against The Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series against UC, 21-12, but UC three-game winning streak against MU is its longest against a conference opponent. Cincinnati and Marquette met earlier this year, when the UC won its second-in-a-row against the Golden Eagles, 64-52. Dayeesha Hollins led the Bearcats with 22 points in UC’s second BIG EAST road win of the season. Cincinnati’s 64 points against MU was the most it has scored against a BIG EAST Conference opponent this season and was its biggest offensive output since it defeated Virginia Tech, 66-55, on Dec. 28, 2011.
