Lovett Named to American Honor Roll|

CINCINNATI – Junior guard Alyesha Lovett (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X Shabazz) has been named to the American Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll as announced Monday afternoon.
The selection marks the second this season for Lovett, after earning the award on January 20 after recording 13 points and four blocks against Temple.
Lovett averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds during a 1-1 week for the Bearcats. Averaging 37 minutes during the two games, Lovett also dished out two assists, recorded two steals and recorded one block.
Against USF, Lovett finished with 20 points on a career-high nine field goals made. Netting a pair of three-pointers, Lovett also lead the team in rebounds (6) and assists (2).
Lovett then provided late-game heroics during a 50-49 dramatic come-from-behind victory for UC over UCF. Lovett scored five of her 13 points in the final 22 seconds including the game-winning lay-up with less than a second remaining. Overall the junior finished with 13 points, five rebounds, one block and one steal.
The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, March 1 to host No. 3/3 Louisville at Fifth Third Arena. The game, which will tip at 2 p.m. will also serve as senior day.
