Bearcats Conclude Regular Season At DePaul Monday

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team (15-13, 6-9 BIG EAST) concludes its regular season when it travels to DePaul (20-9, 8-7 BIG EAST) on Monday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. The game can be heard live on with Scott Waldrop on the call.

Last Time Out
The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team was defeated by West Virginia (20-8, 10-5 BIG EAST), 66-62, on Feb. 25 at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats led by as much as 14, but the Mountaineers rallied in the second half to snap UC’s four-game winning streak on Senior Day.

Cincinnati’s two seniors led the way in a day honoring their careers. Bjonee Reaves led all scorers with 22 points, while Chanel Chisholm followed with 12 points and a team-best six rebounds. Dayeesha Hollins was the only other double-digit scorer with 11 points and a game-high five assists.

A Historic Season
With its 60-46 win against Marquette, Cincinnati is guaranteed to finish with a least a 500 record this season, while Marquette’s 46 points were the lowest UC has held a conference opponent to this season. UC has its most wins under head coach Jamelle Elliott (15) and its most BIG EAST Conference wins since the 2006-07 season, when it won six. UC’s 54-48 victory at Seton Hall was its fourth BIG EAST road win of the season, which is the most since it joined the league in 2005-06.

Bearcats Against The Blue Demons
DePaul leads the all-time series against Cincinnati, 23-12, including a 14-2 mark at home. It has won the last four-straight, including a 67-48 victory on Jan. 25, 2011, when Shareese Ulis scored a team-high 18 points.



Scouting DePaul
DePaul enters Monday’s contest with a 20-9 overall record and a 8-7 BIG EAST mark. It has lost the last two-straight, including an 81-65 loss to Syracuse and a 75-62 loss at Louisville. The Blue Demons are 12-2 at home this season. DePaul is led by four players in double figures, including Anna Martin with 18.4 ppg. Keisha Hampton (16.6 ppg), Jasmine Penny (11.4 ppg) and Brittany Hrynko (11.3 pgg) follow, while Katherine Harry is averaging a team-best 9.5 rpg. DePaul was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST in the preseason polls.
