CINCINNATI – Dayeesha Hollins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods/Michigan) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the week of November 26 after leading Cincinnati to a 2-0 week. It is the first honor for the junior guard this season and the second of her career.
Hollins averaged 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists during the pair of Cincinnati wins. The junior added 15 points, eight coming at the free throw line, during a 59-41 win over Kent State. She also dished out five assists and recorded three steals while finishing second the team in rebounds (7).
Hollins finished the week with a 23-point performance against College of Charleston. It marked the eighth career 20-point game for the guard. She pulled down four rebounds and had two steals while hitting eight of her 11 free throw attempts.
Hollins currently leads the team in scoring (17.5 ppg) and is second in rebounding (5.8 rpg). An All-BIG EAST Second-Team Selection last season, she needs just 66 points to reach 1,000 for her career.
The honor is the second in Hollins’ career after earning the award the week of February 6 last season, averaging 19.5 points against Marquette and Georgetown.
