WESTON, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished 11th on Tuesday, March 1, at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge, hosted by the University of Louisville.
Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) finished in sixth place with rounds of 75-76-69=220, six shots ahead of senior Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan, City, Philippines/Miriam College). Dela Paz shot rounds of 77-81-78=226 to place tied for 40th. Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans, Gymnasieskola) tied for 45th with rounds of 84-74-80=238.
The Bearcats shot 311-313-309=933 to finish 11th, six shots behind 10th place South Florida (311-313-303=927) and three shots ahead of 12th place Mississippi State (318-310-308=936).
Texas State won the team title with rounds of 307-301-294=902. Florida International (305-300-301=906) finished second.
South Florida's Shena Yang (70-72-70=212) won medalist honors in a playoff victory over East Tennessee State's Nina Muehl (73-71-68=212). Sara-Maude Juneau of Louisville finished in third place with rounds of 73-68-75=216.
The Bearcats will return to action Mar. 4-6, 2011 at the Duramed Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
