Women's Golf Finishes First Round of Clover Cup|

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team completed the opening round of the Clover Cup hosted by Notre Dame at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona Friday afternoon, currently placing 14th out of 15 teams.
The Bearcats were led on the course by freshman Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) who turned in a first-round score of 75, tying her for 14th place. Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) and Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) were just behind in the standings with rounds of 76 to place 19th in the field. Dose recorded three birdies while Mitchell and Dose each had one.
Valentina Herrera (Bogota, Colombia) and Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) rounded out UC’s scoring team with rounds of 84 and 85 respectively. Herrera is tied for 80th while Malek is 85th.
Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) also competed in the event as an individual with a round of 84 on Friday to land in a tie for 80th on the leaderboard.
Colorado leads to team standings with a score of 292 on Friday. Michigan is second with a score of 298 while Notre Dame is third with a score of 299. Kristina Nhim of Notre Dame leads the field with a four-under round of 68.
