CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished eighth at the UC Spring Invitational on March 26-27 at the Plantation Inn Golf Resort and Spa.
Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar) paced the Bearcats with a 13th-place finish. She shot 75-79-76=230 and tied with four others for 13th.
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) shot 81-78-73=232 to finish tied for 19th. Alex Carl (Union, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) was tied for 48th with a 77-80-82=239. Jenny Linville (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) posted a UC-low 74 in the second round and finished tied for 53rd with an 83-74-83=240.
The Bearcats posted rounds of 314-311-313=938, one shot ahead of ninth-place Rutgers (315-309-315=939) and three shots up on Embry-Riddle (313-314-314=941).
Illinois won the team title with round of 299-293-301=893, finishing as the only school under 900. Stetson was second at 301-297-307=905.
Alex Buelow of Stetson was the individual champion, finishing with rounds of 72-69-75=216 for even par. Hailey Koschmann of Illinois was second, two shots back with rounds of 72-71-75=218.
The Bearcats will play at the Canes and Cards Invitational on April 5-6 in Miami Lakes, Fla.
