CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team moved up another spot and finished 10th at the 2011 UC Women's Spring Invitational on Sunday, March 27, at the Plantation Golf Resort and Spa in Crystal River, Fla.
Freshman Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) was the top finisher for the Bearcats, placing in a tie for 20th with rounds of 78-75-75=228.
Senior Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) fired rounds of 79-76-75=230 to finish tied for 26th. Fellow senior Jenny Linville (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) was solid on Friday (79) and Saturday (74) before putting up an 86 on Sunday and finishing tied for 71st with a 239.
Playing as individuals, Sage Roth (Millersville, Md./Tulane) and Kristin Price (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) posted rounds of 79-82-72=233 and 82-76-77=235 to tie for 47th and 53rd, respectively. Roth's third-round 72 was the low round for the Bearcats in the tournament.
The Bearcats shot 315-304-308=927 to finish one shot behind ninth-place Florida Atlantic, which shot 312-305-309=926.
North Texas won the team title, carding 301-292-289=882 to finish 13 shots ahead of second-place Morehead State (290-301-304=895).
Florida Gulf Coast's Briana Carlson was the individual champion with a five-under 74-70-67=211 followed by Amy Anderson (71-74-69=214) of North Dakota State.
UC is next in action at the 2011 Hall of Fame Classic on April 4-5 in St. Augustine, Fla.
