Pair of Bearcats Tied for Third at WKU Classic|

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Valentina Herrera (Bogota, Colombia) and Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) are each tied for third place after the first two rounds of the Western Kentucky University Lady Topper Classic at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Two of five Bearcats competing as individuals at the event, Liebert and Herrera are both tied for third place after Monday’s first two rounds. Liebert led the field after the first 18 holes with an even-par round of 72. The freshman picked up three consecutive birdies during the first round before shooting a 79 during the second round.
Herrera had consistent rounds of 75 and 76 to sit at seven-over par after the first 36 holes. The freshman recorded four birdies during the day, including two on the par-three 145-yard 11th hole.
Also competing at the event, Mackenzie Moir (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) is tied for 15th after the first two rounds with a score of 82-79=161. Sofia Langenius (Hovas, Sweeden) is tied for 31st with a score of 84-83=167 while Stephanie Horvath (Medina, Ohio/Highland) is tied for 47th heading into Tuesday’s final round with a score of 87-93=180 to wrap up the Bearcats’ play at the event.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes scheduled to begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
