Dose Leads Field After Day One of American Championship|

PALM COAST, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team wrapped up the first day of the American Championship Sunday afternoon, sitting in second place with a team score of 311.
The Bearcats were paced by a pair of seniors in Olivia Dose and Andrea Malek, who currently rank first and second in the field. Dose fired a 74 Sunday while Malek is just behind with a 75. Stefanie Mitchell added an 80 to the team score and sits tied for 15th overall. Valentina Herrera is tied for 24th with an 82 while Ashley Cassidy shot a 92 and sits in 37th place.
Cincinnati is four strokes back of first-round leader UCF, who finished the day with a 307. Louisville is third with a 314, one stroke ahead of SMU with a 315. Memphis rounded out the top five with a 319.
Second-round action will resume Monday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
