Bearcats Complete Round Two Action at American Championship|

PALM COAST, Fla. – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team wrapped up the second day of the American Championship at the Hammock Beach Resort and Golf Club on a windy Monday afternoon.
The Bearcats slipped to sixth in the overall team standings with a 330 during Monday’s second round. UCF continues to lead the field with a 307-305=612 score. Louisville (314-302=616) is second ahead of SMU (315-306=621), Memphis (319-306=625) and USF (324-313=637) to round out the top five.
Seniors Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) and Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) are both tied for ninth place in the field after a rounds of 80 and 79 respectively. Dose picked up birdies on holes No. 1 and 10 while Malek added one on the par-4, 380-yard fifth hole.
Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) dropped 11 strokes from her first-round score of 93 to record an 82 on Monday. The freshman is currently tied for 37th. Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) and Valentina Herrera (Bogotá, Colombia) each finished with second-round 89’s to round out UC’s scoring. Mitchell is tied for 33rd while Herrera is 35th.
