SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team posted a school-record two-round total of 299-297=596 to sit in second place after 36 holes at the Cardinal Cup on Monday (Sept. 17).
UC's Mackenzie Moir continued her strong play this fall, posting a career-low round of 71 in the first round, followed by a 74 in the second to sit in fifth place with a two-round total of 145.
Maria Roos is tied for sixth with a 74-72=146. The 72 is a career-low for the senior. Olivia Dose posted rounds of 78-74=152 to tie for 32nd, while Alex Carl carded rounds of 76-77=153 and is tied for 38th.
The Bearcats are five shots behind host Louisville, which leads the team competition with rounds of 294-297=591. Missouri (291-308=599) and Georgia State (307-292=599) are tied for third.
Emily Haas of Louisville leads the individual competition, carding identical rounds of 69-69=138.
"I am very proud of the team," said Director of Golf Janet Carl. "We fought hard through the rain all day and got a total team effort."
The third and final round will tee off at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Cardinal Club.
