Dose Leads Women's Golf During First Day of Cardinal Cup|

CINCINNATI – Senior Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) led the University of Cincinnati golf team during the first day of the 2013 Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville in Simpsonville, Ky.
The Bearcats are currently fifth after the first 36 holes of action with a team score of 602. UC opened with a first round score of 303 before capping the day with a 299. Host Louisville (567) leads the 13-team field with scores of 283 and 284. Kansas (295-286=581), Louisville’s B team (295-289=584) and Chattanooga (301-293=594) joined UC in the top five.
Dose leads the UC golfers with a 36-hole total of 144, currently placing fifth among the field of 75. The senior opened the day with a round of 73 before firing a 71 during the final 18 holes.
Mackenzie Moir (75-74=149) is tied for 20th, while Andrea Malek (78-75=153) is tied for 31st. Stefanie Mitchell (77-79=156) and Ashley Cassidy (83-84=167) rounded out Cincinnati’s scoring team. Valentina Herrera (80-77=157) and Sofia Langenius (89-86=175) also competed as individuals for UC.
Louisville’s Laura Restrepo is the top individual golfer with rounds of 67 and 70 during the day. Her seven-under-par day gives her a three-stroke lead over Yupaporn Kawinpakorn of Kansas after 36 holes.
