Bearcats Lead After Round One at Marshall
Cumtell leads with first-round 73

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Freshman Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) fired a first-round 73 to take the individual lead on Monday (Oct. 6) at the Lady Herd Fall Classic at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. The Bearcats lead the team competition after compiling a 307 on day one.
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Phillipines) and Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) each posted rounds of 77 to tie for sixth. Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar School) shot an opening-round 80 to tie for 16th.
UC's 307 first-round total is two better than second-place Southern Mississippi, which shot a 309. Towson (316), Ohio (316) and host Marshall (318) followed.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7.
