LAS CRUCES, N.M.- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished 11th at the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate on Wednesday at the New Mexico State Golf Course.
Andrea Malekled the Bearcats with a 17th-place finish, shooting rounds of 70-75-77=222, a career best. Malek posted her previous career best three-round total (73-76-76=225) at last year's Price's Give 'Em Five.
Maria Roos was 52nd after posting rounds of 77-76-78=231, while Alex Carl shot 76-77-80=233 to place 56th. Olivia Dose (81-73-82=236) and Mackenzie Moir(76-83-77=236) finished tied for 67th at 20 over par.
"I'm proud of the team as they really played hard this week," said Director of Golf Janet Carl. "Even though today wasn't what they wanted, they learned a lot about themselves and I expect them to finish the fall season strong."
The Bearcats shot rounds of 299-301-312=912 to finish two shots ahead of Boise State (314-305-295=914).
Baylor (288-286-286=860) held off Idaho (290-286-285=861) by one stroke to take the team crown.
Baylor's Jaclyn Jansen (70-71-70=211) matched strokes with Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro (70-70-71=211) to tie for medalist honors.
The Bearcats return to action on Oct. 17-18 at the UD Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.
