KETTERING, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team captured the UD Invitational title on Tuesday at the NCR Country Club.
UC posted a 302 in the second round for a 303-302=605 total and 15-shot victory over IUPUI (316-304=620).
Olivia Dose (76-71=147) was tied with Detroit Mercy's Lindsey Lammers (74-73=147) after 36 holes and went to a one-hole playoff for the event crown. Lammers birdied, while Dose made par to finish second.
Maria Roos posted consistent rounds of 76-76=152 to finish tied for fifth. Andrea Malek, who was tied for the 18-hole lead, finished seventh with rounds of 74-79=153. Alex Carl was two shots back at 77-78=155, tied for eighth.
It was the first team title for the Bearcats since Oct. 21, 2009, at the UD Invitational. Cincinnati also won the UC Fall Classic that season.
The Bearcats wrap up fall play on Oct. 23-25 at the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
