PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Cincinnati sophomore Andrea Malek was named to the All-BIG EAST Conference women's golf team on Thursday by the league's coaches.

Malek led the Bearcats with a 77.0 stroke average over 27 rounds this season. She posted a team- and career-low round of 67 en route to a career-best second-place finish at the Pat Bradley Invitational in the fall. Her three-round total of 75-74-67=216 was a school record.

She posted three Top 10 finishes in 2011-12, placing seventh at the UD Invitational in the fall, second at the Pat Bradley Invitational, and third at the Marsh Landing Invitational.

She was 23rd at the BIG EAST Championship after tying for 29th last season.

Malek's honor marks the third consecutive season that UC has put a player on the all-conference team, following Bambee Dela Paz (2010, 2011) and Jenny Linville (2010).
