CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team will head to the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State to participate in the three day tournament starting Monday, October 7.
A total of 14 schools will be participating including New Mexico State, Idaho, North Texas, UTEP, Nevada, Boise State, BYU, Cincinnati, Utah Valley, Cal-State Fullerton, Tulsa, Portland State, UC-Irvine and Wyoming.
The tournament format will include 54 holes, 18 on each day Monday-Wednesday. Play will start each day with an 8:30 shotgun start.
This will the be the 14th year for the event and the fourth straight the Bearcats have participated in. UC finished 10th at last season’s tournament with a team score of 904.
The 18-hole New Mexico State Golf Course will play at par 72 and 6,258 yards. The layout includes tifgreen 328 fairways, bent-grass greens and roughs containing plant life common to the desert Southwest including creosote, mesquite, yucca and cactus. The course consists of four par-3 holes, 10 par-4 holes and four par-5 holes.
Five Bearcats will travel to the event. Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola), Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola), Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview High School), Valentina Herrera (Bogota, Columbia) and Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) will all represent UC at the tournament.
