Postgame Quotes

UC Head Coach Gina Oliver

On the effort of the entire team:

“Today was a really sad and emotional day for us. One of our senior players, Katelyn Wettig, and her family are going through a really tough time and she’s not here to spend the day with us. We made this game about her and her family and showed a lot of emotion and you could definitely tell that’s who they were playing for today.”

On who stepped up individually:

“There were a couple people. Kelsey Conway definitely stepped up and Ally Van Sloun on defense. You could definitely tell Marissa Pierson and Katie Kiriazoglou stepped up and played well for Wettig. They are Wettig’s two closest teammates and they definitely stepped up and played well for her and played with a lot of fight.”

On preparing for Marquette:

“We are going to do the same thing we’ve done all season. We are coming off a good confidence booster tonight, playing the way we played. We look forward to getting back in to BIG EAST play and proving that we have a lot of work to be done.”
