CINCINNATI -- Fans of the University of Cincinnati lacrosse team are encouraged to wear pink when attending the BIG EAST Conference game against Syracuse this Friday, April 23, at 5 p.m.

The Bearcats will wear pink uniforms during the game against the Orange in order to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer and Syracuse will participate by wearing pink shoe laces.

Breast Cancer Statistics
    * Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women touched with cancer in the U.S.
    * Approximately 211,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year.
    * Approximately 39,800 women in the U.S. will die from breast cancer this year.
    * If breast cancer is detected and treated early, the survival rate is nearly 100 percent.

Admission for the contest at Nippert Stadium is free.
