May 19, 2014
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati lacrosse signee Lauren Hudson (Baltimore, Md./Maryvale Prep) will be the first Under Armour All-American to play lacrosse for the Bearcats after being named to the 2014 Under Armour All-America team. She will represent the South Team in the 2014 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic on July 12.
"We are really excited for Lauren," said head coach Gina Oliver. "Being recognized as a UA All-American is a huge accomplishment. In addition to being a great player, she is an even better kid. We are glad she's a Bearcat and can't wait until her and the entire '14 class get to campus this fall."
Husdon will come to UC following an outstanding career at Maryvale Prep, the same school that produced current Bearcats attacker Ashley Helmrath (Ellicott City, Md./Maryvale Prep). Hudson played in the Under Armour Underclassmen Elite Tournament last year, while earning Maryvale's Rookie of the Year award in 2011 and the team's Unsung Heroine award last season. She plays club lacrosse for SkyWalkers Lacrosse program.
The 2014 edition of the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic will be held on Saturday, July 12, at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md. The boys classic will get underway at 5:00 p.m., followed by the girls edition at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit underarmourlacrosse.com or follow the event host, Corrigan Sports Lax, on Twitter @CSELax.
