CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer team placed 13 players on the coveted Topcat scholar list and another five players on the Bearcat Honor Roll. To qualify for the Bearcat Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have earned a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 for the quarter, while Topcat honorees must maintain between a 3.5 and a 4.0 GPA.
Eighteen of UC’s 22 women’s soccer players (81 percent) enjoyed success in the classroom as well as on the field.
The UC women's soccer program’s academic success follows its most successful season in the BIG EAST Conference. The women’s soccer team accomplished a 10-win season, earning its highest finish in the BIG EAST regular season standings, and made a BIG EAST Women's Soccer Championship Quarterfinal appearance for the first time since joining the BIG EAST in 2005.
"We take great pride in representing UC in the classroom, on the field and in the community,” said head coach Michelle Salmon. “We believe that we not only represent UC, but the city of Cincinnati as a whole. Our philosophy is to always do the right thing and our team epitomizes this way of thinking."
