UC assistant coach Becki Poeppelmeier returned to the Bearcat sidelines in 2005 after coaching at UC during the 2001-2002 seasons, two of the most successful in Bearcat history.
Entering her fifth season at Cincinnati, Poeppelmeier acts as the team's recruiting coordinator and handles team budget, scouting and on-field instruction. During her tenure, she helped the Bearcats to two Conference USA tournament titles, a regular season title, and two trips to the NCAA College Cup. The Bearcats posted a 37-8-3 record in her first two seasons.
Poeppelmeier has had a great deal of experience with premier club teams. She currently serves as the head coach for the U-15 Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. In 2004, she was the Girls Director of Coaching for the St. Louis Stars Soccer Club. Prior to joining the Bearcat staff in 2001, Poeppelmeier was a head coach for the Olympic Development Program's Ohio South program. She participated in the NSCAA International Coaches Symposium in Portugal, concurrent with the Algarve Cup in the spring of 2007.
Poeppelmeier was also an assistant for two seasons at the College of Wooster during the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
A defensive standout at Wilmington College, the two-year team captain earned All-Region and All-Ohio honors and led the Quakers to the NCAA Tournament in 1994, 1996, and 1997.
Poeppelmeier earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilmington in 1998 and completed her Master's degree in secondary education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2004. She currently holds both the USSF National C license and the NSCAA Advanced National license.
A native of Centerville, Ohio, Poeppelmeier led Centerville High School to a 1992 state runner-up finish and earned all-region and all-state honors. She is married to Chad Poeppelmeier
