Ballinger Suffers Season-Ending Injury|
Sept. 9, 2009
CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women’s soccer junior Logan Ballinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) suffered a season-ending injury in UC’s match against South Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 6, in the Courtyard by Marriott Airport Cardinal Classic.
“Logan was off to a great season and she is as disappointed in this injury as we are as a coaching staff,” said head coach Michelle Salmon. “We will seek a medical redshirt for her and hopefully have two years of eligibility remaining for her.”
Ballinger, a defender, has the second most points for the Bearcats, scoring one goal and recording an assist in 2009.
Cincinnati will play its home season opener next, on Thursday, Sept. 10, when they take on crosstown rival Xavier at Gettler Stadium in a 7 p.m. match.
