Bearcats End In Tie With Orange
The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team played to a 1-1, double overtime tie against Syracuse University in a rain-soaked match on Friday night at SU Soccer Stadium. The Bearcats ended in a draw for the second time in as many contests against the Orange after a 0-0 tie in the first meeting between the two teams in 2006.

Setting the Scene:
• The Bearcats look to end a five-match losing skid when they continue BIG EAST Conference play this
weekend.
• UC opens a two-match homestand Friday with a 7 p.m. matchup versus St. John's University at Gettler
Stadium. The Bearcats then will face off against Syracuse University beginning 1 p.m. Sunday.
• After falling to Big Ten Conference foe Nebraska on Sept. 2, UC lost two matches at the Denver University Invitational, all three by scores of 2-1, to UC-Irvine (Sept. 7) and Colorado (Sept. 9).
• Sophomore goalkeeper Kristina Utley recorded a career-high 12 saves vs. Colorado. An own goal was the deciding point in the match versus the Buffaloes.
• Sophomore MF Megan Cravenor and junior F Jazmine Rhodes were named to the DU Invite All-Tournament team after both totaled one goal in the two-match event.
• Cincinnati fell to DePaul 1-0 in its conference opener Sept. 14 before losing at Notre Dame 7-0 on Sept. 16.

Series Histories:
• Cincinnati owns a 2-1-1 record against St. John's all time, which includes a 1-0 win over the Red Storm on Oct. 4, 2009 in Jamaica Queens, N.Y. Then freshman Evi Ranson scored her first career goal in that tilt.
• The Bearcats and the Orange have played in two matches all time, both resulted in a draw. The last meeting occurred Oct. 2, 2009 in Syracuse and ended with a 1-1 score.

Greer, Rose Earn BIG EAST Honors:
• Junior midfielder Kate Greer was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll on Aug. 27 for her
performance against Northeastern Aug. 26.
• Greer produced her first-career goal, a game-winner with 1:13 left in double overtime that lifted the Bearcats to a 2-1 win.
• Greer is the second Bearcat to earn conference accolades in 2012 after freshman forward Laura Rose was named the BIG EAST Conference Rookie of the Week on Aug. 20.
• Rose scored her first collegiate goal in UC's season opener at Elon on Aug. 17. She turned around two days later and scored a pair of goals at N.C. State to lead the Bearcats to a 3-1 win.
