Ballinger's Two Goals Powers UC Past SHU
Senior midfielder Logan Ballinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) scored a career-high two goals to lead the University of Cincinnati women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Seton Hall University Friday evening at Gettler Stadium.

Cincinnati Falls To Rutgers 1-0 In Overtime
The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team fell to Rutgers University 1-0 in overtime Sunday afternoon at Gettler Stadium.

Setting the Scene:
-UC closes the regular season with three straight road matches, beginnign with two road contests in New Jersey. The Bearcats play Seton Hall 5 p.m. Friday in South Orange, N.J. and then Rutgers 1 p.m. Sunday in Piscataway, N.J.
-After falling to Big Ten Conference foe Nebraska on Sept. 2, UC lost two matches at the Denver Invitational, all three by scores of 2-1, to UC-Irvine (Sept. 7) and Colorado (Sept. 9).
-Sophomore goalkeeper Kristina Utley recorded a career-high 12 saves vs. Colorado. An own goal was the deciding point in the match versus the Buffaloes.
-Sophomore MF Megan Cravenor and junior F Jazmine Rhodes were named to the Denver Invite All-Tournament team after both totaled one goal in the two-match event.
-Cincinnati fell to DePaul 1-0  in its conference opener Sept. 14 before losing at Notre Dame 7-0 Sept. 16.
-Freshman forward Laura Rose scored the winning goal with 2 second remaining in double overtime in a 1-0 UC triumph over St. John's on Sept. 21. After defeating St. John's, the Bearcats are in the midst of a five-match losing streak after losing to Syracuse 1-0 (Sept. 23), dropping road matches at USF 4-1 (Sept. 28) and at No. 19 Marquette 5-0 (Sept. 30), and then losing a pair of home tilts 1-0 vs. Georgetown (Oct. 5) and Villanova (Oct. 7).

Series Histories:
-Cincinnati is 3-3-1 all time against Seton Hall University. The Bearcats defeated Seton Hall 3-0 on Oct. 14, 2011 at Gettler Stadium in the two schools' last meeting. Then senior midfielder Logan Ballinger scored two goals for UC that night.
-The Bearcats are 2-7-1 against Rutgers with the last meeting occuring Oct. 16, 2011 when RU topped Cincinnati 1-0 in double overtime, which eliminated the Bearcats from postseason contention.

Greer, Rose Earn BIG EAST Honors:
-Junior midfielder Katie Greer was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll on Aug. 27 for her performance against Northeastern Aug. 26. Greer produced her first-career goal, a game-winner with 1:13 left in double overtime that lifted the Bearcats to a 2-1 win.
-Greer is the second Bearcat to earn conference accolades in 2012 after freshman forward Laura Rose was named the BIG EAST Conference Rookie of the Week on Aug. 20.
-Rose scored her first collegiate goal in UC's season opener at Elon on Aug. 17. She turned around two days later and scored a pair of goals at N.C. State to lead the Bearcats to a 3-1 win.

Bearcats in the Top 10:
-Sophomore goalkeeper Kristina Utley leads the conference in saves (95) and saves per match (6.33).
-Jazmine Rhodes (3.64) and Laura Rose (3.36) rank fourth and seventh, respectively, in shots per match.
-Rose is 10th in goals per game (0.45).

-Cincinnati closes the regualr season with a road match against longtime rival Louisville on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.
