UC Women's Soccer Hosts First Place Showdown on Friday
Bearcats to battle Marquette at Meyers Field

The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer team, currently one-half game out of first place in the Conference USA standings, will battle first-place Marquette tonight (Oct. 19) at 7 p.m. at Meyers Field.
The Bearcats own a 10-3 overall and 5-0 C-USA record, while the visiting Golden Eagles, who are ranked No. 18 by the National Soccer Coaches Association, bring a10-2 overall mark and 6-0 C-USA slate to Cincinnati.
UC enters the match as the No. 1 team in Ohio, according to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association, and are No. 10 in the Great Lakes Region.
The Bearcats are also ranked in the latest NCAA statistics for games played through Oct. 14. UC ranks No. 1 nationally in goals-against average (0.33), allowing four goals in 12 matches. In addition, UC goalie Christy Hoffman (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) is ranked fourth nationally in the same category at 0.34.
Marquette leads the all-time series 6-5-1 and have won the last four contests. The Golden Eagles claimed the last meeting between the schools, a 1-0 double overtime match in the finals of the C-USA tournament last year.
