Southern Miss Tops Bearcat Tennis, 5-2|

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sophomore Lindsay Willeford and freshman Jenny Rowen earned singles wins, but Cincinnati still fell to Southern Miss, 5-2, at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville on Saturday evening.
Willeford earned her win at No. 2, topping Grace Kammerer, 6-3, 5-7, 12-10. Rowen picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Natalia Parrado at No. 3. Jill Klauck played strong at No. 4, taking the first set from Ali Blackett before losing a second-set tie-breaker and then a 10-2 third set.
Willeford and Rowen also put up UC's best doubles performance, forcing a tie-breaker before falling to Blackett and Nikhila Narra, 7-4 in the tie-breaker.
The Bearcats, who fell to 0-7 with the loss, are next in action on Feb. 24 and 25 in Kalamazoo, Mich. where they will face Marquette and Western Michigan.
