AKRON, OHIO - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Akron (10-0) on Sunday morning in the LaTuchie Tennis Center.
The Bearcats (1-8) were swept in doubles play by scores of 8-4, 8-4 and 8-2. Carly Wilson and Sierra Sullivan were first defeated by Olga Shkundina and Natalia Kuvakina, followed by Ashleigh Witte and Jasmine Lee falling to Zara Harutyunyan and Prang Pantusart.
Doubles play concluded with Safiyya Ismail and Kristina Georgieva dropping their match against Akron's Angelika Jogasuria and Angelina Jogasuria.
Cincinnati was topped in all six singles matches in straight sets. Carly Wilson fell 6-2, 6-1 to Natalia Kuvakina with Ashleigh Witte dropping a 6-1, 6-3 decision to the Zips' Prang Pantusart.
Jasmine Lee was topped in a 6-2, 6-0 decision by Zara Harutyunyan while Sierra Sullivan fell 6-3, 6-3 to Angelina Jogasuria.
Kristina Georgieva dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Olga Shkundina with Safiyya Ismail falling 6-2, 6-1 to UA's Ksenia Berestetska.
The Bearcats return to action in the Western Tennis and Fitness Club on Friday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers.
