Women's Tennis Swept by Louisville|

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 58 Louisville on Saturday evening at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. Senior Jasmine Lee (Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak), the reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week, put up the best fight for the Bearcats, falling 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot.
Louisville grabbed the first point of the match, topping Cincinnati on all three doubles courts to open play. In the top spot, Lee and senior Caitlin O'Gara (Springboro, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) fell to Julia Fellerhoff and Rebecca Shine 8-2 while the junior duo of Ashleigh Witte (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) and Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas/Khabele School) lost to Mandy Brown and Stefanie Villajuan 8-3 on court No. 2. In the third spot, sophomore Kristina Georgieva (Varna, Bulgaria/Varna Sports School) and freshman Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) put up a good fight, coming from 7-4 down to climb to within one point at 7-6, but it was not enough. The pair lost to Manuela Velasquez and Rebecca Bodine 8-6.
In singles action, Lee fell to Fellerhoff 6-4, 6-4 at the top spot and O'Gara lost 6-3, 6-0 to Shine on court No. 2. Witte was topped by Velasquez 6-3, 6-1 as the third seed and Poggensee-Wei fell to Brown 6-3, 6-2 in the fourth position. On court No. 5, Georgieva lost 6-4, 6-1 to Villajuan while freshman Hannah Wille (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway Central) was beat 6-0, 6-0 by Bodine.
The match was the last scheduled for the Western Tennis and Fitness Center, as the remaining five home matches will be played at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.
The Bearcats will hit the road next for a pair of matches in the Sunshine State. UC will take on BIG EAST foe No. 70 USF on Tues., March 19 at 2 p.m. It will then travel to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Florida Atlantic on Thurs., March 21 at 1:30 p.m.
