DeLAND, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Stetson on Monday afternoon in DeLand, Fla. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
The Bearcats surrendered the doubles point after the Hatters took two out of three. Sierra Sullivan and Carly Wilson fell in a 8-1 decision to Lindsey Cable and Shannon Gunning, while Kristina Georgieva and Safiyya Ismail dropped a 8-4 decision to Diana Bukajeva and Jen Miller.
Jasmine Lee and Ashleigh Witte picked up the Bearcats' lone doubles play victory with a 8-6 decision over Stetson's Sara Lazarevic and Clarke Tatje.
Cincinnati was shutout in singles play, with each Bearcat losing in straight sets. Jasmine Lee fell 6-4, 6-2 to Sara Lazarevic, while Ashleigh Witte dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Clarke Tatje.
Kristina Georgieva was defeated 6-0, 6-4 by Shannon Gunning, with Safiyya Ismail falling 6-1, 6-3 against Lindsey Cable.
Sierra Sullivan dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Diana Bukajeva, while Carly Wilson fell 6-0, 6-1 to Stetson's Jen Miller.
Stetson (8-1) added their sixth win in a row, while Cincinnati (4-11) extended its losing streak to three.
The Bearcats will look to right the ship on Tuesday afternoon when they face Augustana (S.D.) College at 11:30 a.m. in Orlando, Fla. in the second leg of their spring break road trip.
