CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s tennis team fell behind early and could not catch up to No. 73 DePaul University, losing 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.

Junior Ashleigh Witte (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) earned the only Bearcats’ victory of the match, topping Ana Vladutu 6-4, 6-1 in the third position. The win was the 12th singles win of the season and the seventh in a row for Witte.

The Blue Demons grabbed a victory on all three courts in doubles action to take an early 1-0 lead. On court No. 1, seniors Jasmine Lee (Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak) and Caitlin O’Gara (Springboro, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick) fell 8-7 to Matea Cutura and Ana Vladutu while Witte and junior Sierra Sullivan (Austin, Texas/Khabele School) lost 8-2 to Jasmin Kling and Patricia Fargas in the second position.
