CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team has planned a scrimmage against Northern Kentucky University for Fri., March 8 at 8:30 a.m. The match will be played in the practice gym, located on the first floor of the Lindner Center.
Fans are invited to watch the scrimmage, which will run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Admission will be free of charge.
The Bearcats are coming off a season which saw them qualify for the BIG EAST Championship for the eighth consecutive year and advance to the semifinal round. First-year head coach Molly Alvey guided four players to BIG EAST honors, including unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection, and All-America honoree, Jordanne Scott.
Cincinnati will be led by junior libero Emily Macintyre who finished the season ranked third all-time in career digs (1,607) and second in career digs per set (4.24). She also set a school record for most digs in a match when she recorded 38 against No. 23 Illinois during the Time Warner Cable Invitational on Sept. 15, 2012.
The scrimmage against NKU will be the first match of the spring schedule for the Bearcats. The remaining matches will be released at a later date.
