CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team hits the road for the first time in the 2014 season when it heads to Louisville, Kentucky, for the Active Ankle Challenge hosted by the University of Louisville on Sept. 5 and 6. The Bearcats will face stiff competition during the two day event, playing undefeated Appalachian State at Noon on Friday, No. 24 Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Tennessee State at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"Our team needs to focus on playing good volleyball," said senior Jamie Netisingha. "We need to keep it simple. We know we are traveling and won't be at home, but I think staying together is a big deal, especially when you are on the road. We just need to take it one game at a time."
Cincinnati is coming off a 2-1 performance at the Queen City Classic, which it hosted in conjunction with Xavier University, picking up wins over Duquesne and UC Irvine for a strong start to the season.
