From its first individual NCAA Champion in Charles Keating (swimming) in 1946, to its back-to-back NCAA men's basketball National Championships in 1961-62, to its first Bowl Championship Series appearance in 2009, the University of Cincinnati has built a history rich in tradition and excellence.

The achievements on and off the playing surface by UC's teams contributes a sense of pride in the community and across the tri-state area. A sense of history, tradition and championships is associated with every mention of the word "Bearcats".

Cincinnati has produced 144 All-Americans and has captured more than 40 conference championships in the Mid-American Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Conference, Conference USA, and now the BIG EAST Conference.

Included among UC's 144 All-Americans are two athletes that have been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Oscar Robertson and Jack Twyman, National Football League Hall of Fame Coach Sid Gilman, two-time World Series Champion Kevin Youkilis, and 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Mary Wineberg just to name a few.
